How to Copy and Paste Its surprising how many people do not know how to Copy and Paste between documents they're using on their computer. This short How to tutorial should help you gain a practical understanding of how to Copy and Paste. Firstly we have to practice highlighting the text we want to copy. We put our cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, hold down the left mouse key and drag it diagonally across the text. And release. Or we start at the end of the paragraph, left mouse click and hold and again we move diagonally to the beginning of the paragraph. If we want to select a sentence only, we l;eft mouse click and hold and wipe across the sentence from either the beginning or end. Keyboard Shortcuts. Having highlighted the text, we are now going to temporarily park the text in the cache (temporary memory) by typing Ctrl + C. This is the keyboard shortcut for copy. We now click the cursor inside the destination document and type Ctrl + V, the keyboard shortcut for paste. Right Mouse Clicks. Having highlighted the text, we are now going to temporarily park the text in the cache (temporary memory) by hovering over the highlighted text, right mouse click and select Copy. Again we click the cursor inside the destination document, right mouse click and select Paste. Summary. Lets's say we want to copy and paste this photo from one folder to another, so from the left folder to the right folder. All we have to do is wipe across the photo like this. Once it's highlighted the right click on the photo, and we click on copy. We then come across to a folder on the right, we click anywhere in this folder, we right-click and paste. Now let's imagine we've got more than one photo, so we got two hear. All we need to do is click and hold with our mouse and highlight the two photos like this. Anywhere on the highlighted area we right-click and copy. We then click into the folder on the right, we right-click and paste.
